The Calendar of Events
is printed in this newsletter.  Volunteers are needed for many of the events.  Please call Marge Magruder (301) 371-6923 if you are interested in volunteering.  There are also opportunities to docent in the Museums. In addition to the Townsend Museum, the Civil War Committee is setting up the Battlefield Museum in the Lodge.  It will be small at first; the Committee hopes to acquire additional artifacts and is developing displays.  To volunteer as a docent call Charles Wierer @ (301) 293-2812.   

Townsend Photography Exhibit  When Gath's great-grand daughter, Dorothy Rasmussen, was here last spring, she brought a number of pictures of Gath, his family and Gapland.  Dan Patrell of Frederick Magazine put them on discs for us and  a committee is developing a photographic exhibit, which should be ready in July. 

Second Annual Civil War Candlelight Tour
is scheduled for August 18th from 8 to 11 p.m.  Reenactors will depict scenarios
